Cryo Accessories : cryotongs
As an alternative to the arc method, we have designed a pair of cryotongs to transfer frozen macromolecular crystals to and from the nitrogen cold stream. These tongs are compatible with the Oxford Cryosystems crystal handling tools only.
The precision machined stainless steel blocks are designed to grip the nickel top hats while allowing the two faces of the tongs to meet and create and air tight seal.
The blocks are mounted on reverse action tweezers to allow the top hats to be gripped easily and securely without the need to hold them closed.
