Cryo Accessories : vial holder kit
Do you frequently handle frozen samples stored in vials? Do you find it difficult to handle the vials wearing cryogloves?
The new vial holder kit is designed to tackle these problems by combining three essential tools to facilitate the handling of frozen vials. The benefits of using the kit include:
- Open and close cold cryovials with ease
- For use in almost all set ups, ideal in the cramped space at a Sychrotron
- Three angle position for insulated handle
- Made from PTFE to eliminate dimensional changes under liquid nitrogen
- Long insulated handle can be trimmed to a suitable length

- Simple rounded tweezers also supplied
The cryovial slots into the vial holder, made from PTFE, and is held in position by 2 metal alignment pins. The lid opener fits perfectly into the lid of the vial and can be used to tighten and unscrew the lid even when frozen on.
The long insulated slender vial holder handle provides maximum maneuverability of the vial. It can be positioned at one of three angles to suit any lab set up simply by unscrewing the handle and refitting it into another hole. The handle is designed to be cut to a convenient length to suit the particular set up.
The vial tweezers allow vials to be gripped easily and securely without the need to hold them closed. Their insulated handles make them idea for use under frozen conditions.
The entire kit has been designed to be suitable for use whilst wearing cryogloves and is designed for Nalgene 2ml cryovials. It is a 'must have' for all Cryo Kits!
