Materials applications
Metripol can be used for a wide variety of materials applications, including quality control, analysis of stress or strain and identification of minerals.
Polarised light microscopy has often been used as a tool for materials analysis but Metripol offers a unique approach; much faster, easier and more accurate then traditional polarising microscopy, it is perfect for quantitative and qualitative measurements.
Unlike normal polarising microscopy, there is no need to orient the sample, take multiple measurements or perform arduous calculations. The Metripol simply uses a motorisde polariser to collect intensity data at a number of polarisation states, then the software instantaneously converts this data into values representing the birefringence, slow axis orientation and transmission of the sample.
